A few weeks ago, Chemist Direct contacted me to see if I wanted to review their service.  There is a huge demand for toiletries in this house with having a fairly vain teenager and two small children as well, so I was happy to say yes.  It would definitely come in handy!

Chemist Direct are an online pharmacy that offers a wide range of facilities from access to online Doctors advice, prescriptions, travel products and a pet health service.  I hadn’t heard of Chemist Direct before, so it was a great service for me to try out.

Chemist Direct have a huge range of products on their website, and it would be great if you are someone who needs to buy toiletries  in bulk.  This seems to be where the best discounts  and value for money are.

Chemist Direct Customer Service

When I processed my order, the website confirmed everything was in stock.  I expected my order to arrive in a few days, but nothing turned up.  After a couple of weeks passed I gave Chemist Direct a call on their customer services number.  The lady was very helpful and let me know that one item was out of stock and that it would be in in a few days.  The whole order would then be despatched together.

Shortly after this phone call, I received an email from Chemist Direct confirming what I’d been told on the telephone.  I was really disappointed they hadn’t been in touch sooner to let me know what was going on.  If I had placed an order needed for going on holiday, it would have been a bit of a disaster.  As it was I did have to stock up on some things from the local supermarket as the Chemist Direct order hadn’t arrived as I’d of expected it to.

I did receive some lovely products from Chemist Direct, and I’ve really enjoyed testing them out.  Sadly the delivery times and lack of timely information from them really let the service down.  If you’d like to see what I received from Chemist Direct please do check out my vlog here

Can I Recommend Them?

As much as we have enjoyed the products from Chemist Direct, sadly I couldn’t recommend this service to my readers.  I would love to see them improve their service and update their customers about their orders in a timely manor.  It may also have help if they had despatched the items they had, with items to follow when they were restocked.  It would have been better to receive the order in 2 parts, rather than delaying sending it out for the sake of one item.  There is definitely room for improvement here.

  1. I have used Chemist Direct in the past and had no problems with them but I have read a few reviews recently where the delivery has not been so good….Such a shame.

  2. What a shame that the delivery took a while. Hopefully they can improve on that!
    I love E45 hand cream, now that I am hurtling towards 30 (argh) my hands get really dry and so I love using E45 hand cream.
    And glad your accidental buy is working out

  3. I have used them twice now. First time, absolutely faultless service. Next time, not so much. Same problem about delays, lack of stock. A bit hit and miss, really.

    Such a shame your experience wasn’t as great as mine.
