Princess and I have been to London to find out all about what is happening this summer with Thomas & Friends at the beautiful Waldorf Hilton Hotel. We were both very exited as we boarded the train for the big city. Princess loves Thomas The Tank Engine, so she was really looking forward to the party at Palm Court. I was looking forward to afternoon tea but also getting a sneak peek inside one of London’s famous luxury hotels.
We headed to Aldwych after a slow stroll through Covent Garden. I was really impressed with the location. The Waldorf Hilton would make the perfect place to stay with a family in London as you have the West End right at your finger tips. You could be watching Charlie and The Chocolate Factory or The Lion King within minutes of leaving the hotel. Sounds perfect doesn’t it?
We entered the famous Palm Court and were greeted by Thomas The Tank Engine and non other than the Fat Controller. Princess was feeling a little camera shy, and didn’t want to have her picture taken. I have the only blogging child who refuses to take part in the photo opportunity! We tried at several points throughout the afternoon but she wasn’t having any of it.
When she saw all the latest train sets and toys from the Thomas & Friends collection by Mattel, there was no stopping her though. She spent all afternoon protecting Thomas The Tank Engine through the air and exploring the different tracks. Have a peak at our YouTube room tour, and you’ll see what I mean!
We were also lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the Thomas & Friends Pop Up Suite that Thomas The Tank Engine fans can stay in throughout August, up until the 4th September. The Thomas & Friends hotel suite is going to be a very magical experience for children visiting the Waldorf Hilton Hotel this summer.
The room has been packed with toys, activities and even Thomas & Friends dressing gowns for the younger guests. Take a look at our room tour and see what you think. I know we would love to stay in this hotel suite gauging from Princess’s reaction. I’m not quite sure how much sleep she would get though.
Not only is the Thomas & Friends room a fun place to stay, but your Thomas The Tank Engine fan will also get to enjoy an exclusive preview of the new Thomas & Friends film, The Great Race. Seeing as this film isn’t due for release until the autumn, this will be a special bedtime treat they won’t forget.
We had such a fun afternoon at The Waldorf Hilton Hotel, with a Thomas & Friends inspired afternoon tea and our fantastic host The Fat Controller. We created some amazing summer memories, and I’m sure anyone who stays here will too.

If you are venturing across the pond, you can also stay in the Thomas & Friends Pop Up Suite at the New York Hilton Midtown. I think it’s amazing that Hilton Hotels & Resorts have provided this for families. When you have small children, you can’t help but spending a little more time in your hotel room, and giving them a space all the family can enjoy makes all the difference.
