Last year Daddy and I took the kids to the local seaside for a day trip. The weather wasn’t particularly great but we were determined to spend the day playing in the sand. The rain had slightly different ideas, and did put a slight dampener on things. Our youngest daughter wasn’t on her feet yet, so she was on lock down under the rain cover in her buggy. Princess was drowned in her Thomas Land poncho but at least she was able to enjoy the sand a little bit more
The one thing that was missing from my recent cruise with the Norwegian Epic was my family. While it was lovely to have sometime to myself, I couldn’t help but notice how child friendly the cruise was and I knew all of my family would really enjoy a holiday on board the ship.
France is so close to us here in the UK, yet it isn’t a country we have visited very often. There are so many things to do in France with kids that I’m determined this has to change. We have been to Paris a couple of times, and in my youth I ventured to Brittany, but that’s about it. I am always plotting my next holiday, and I can see France featuring more and more in our family travel plans. If you follow my blog regularly, you might have picked
We have had such a great time as Get Set, Splash bloggers for HUGGIES® Little Swimmers®. Water fun is something kids and parents can get so much from and it can be such an easy and simple thing to enjoy. As children’s activities go it can be easy on the pocket too.
It is no secret that I love to visit Spain. I am a huge fan of the country, it’s culture and especially it’s food. Add to all that glorious sunshine, beautiful sandy beaches and a glorious coast line and for me you have the perfect family holiday. I have been lucky enough to visit mainland Spain a lot. You’ll have heard me talk about Nerja a lot and our recent trip to Fuengirola.
A seed has been firmly planted in my mind that I want to take the family on holiday to Walt Disney World in Florida. This seed is growing at quite a rate and I predict that we will be exploring the most famous theme park in the world in the next few years. I would love to visit next year, but my husband came up with a few reasons why we need to wait a little bit longer. It looks like we are going to be buying a car in
When we took our holiday in Pembrokeshire, one thing I really wanted to do was visit Folly Farm Park. While we were staying at Bluestone National Park Resort, we were lucky enough to be able to spend lots of time with our friends, Kaz and Pickle from Ickle Pickles Life and Travels. They have become great friends of ours over the course of our blogging journey and it was lovely to be able to catch up with them during our holiday. As a surprise, Kaz very kindly arranged for us all to have
Al Fresco Holidays was a new concept to us, but as a family with young children who enjoy travelling we were keen to give it a go. Can you believe our visit to Tamarit Park was our first holiday together as a family this year considering how much I talk about family travel? That’s the problem with having a big age gap family, getting us all on the same trip can be a challenge. Daddy was definitely ready for a break and the kids are always up for some sea and

Breckenridge is a beautiful and unique mountain town found in the Rockie Mountains near Colorado in the US. I’ve always loved the thought of visiting somewhere like Breckenridge, a town which, unlike others in America, still has a feel of the Wild West about it. As a kid growing up in the UK I used to watch the Beverly Hill Billies and a particular favourite was Little House on the Prairie. Some readers of my blog might be a bit young to remember these shows, but they really were one of
Dubai probably isn’t the first place that you think of when you are planning an affordable family holiday. It’s a holiday destination that conjures up pictures of huge yachts and luxurious hotels, so it must cost a fortune to go there, right? Actually, it might not be as costly as you might think. Dubai has been attracting more and more tourists over recent years and it turns out theres lots of reasons to visit. We all deserve a touch of luxury in our lives, and at least once in a
Next week we are going on holiday to stay at Tamarit Park in Tarragona, Costa Dorada with Al Fresco Holidays. We are all ready for a break and some sunshine and I’m busy getting everything ready for our trip. It’s been a bit of a challenging week as on Monday I was walking down some concrete steps with my toddler in my arms and I lost my footing and fell. I managed to stop my daughter making contact with the floor, but I did quite a bit of damage to my
I have wanted to visit Bluestone National Park Resort for so long and last week my wish finally came true. The girls and I headed off on a road trip to beautiful Pembrokeshire to see what the best holiday resort in Wales had to offer. I was also super excited as a visit to Bluestone meant I was able to catch up with my gorgeous friends from Kaz and Pickle from Ickle Pickles Life and Travels. I couldn’t wait to spend some proper time with these guys and I knew
Going to New York with teen, and leaving the rest of the family at home was a big decision for me. No matter how excited I was about the trip, leaving the girls for what would be 5 days including the travelling, made me feel sad. Little Pudding is too young to understand and is very much a Daddy’s girl at the moment. Princess, who is nearly 4, needed to know what was going on as she can get quite anxious when I’m not around.
Whether you choose to visit a theme park, take a traditional seaside holiday or visit a child friendly resort, family holidays can be great fun. However, as your children grow and develop into teenagers with their own ideas of what a holiday should be, you’ll be faced with a new set of challenges which require a whole new holiday strategy if you want to keep everyone happy.
If you have been keeping up with the blog recently you’ll know that teen and I are heading off to New York next month. To say we are a bit excited about all the things we are going to do is an understatement. Packing for teen will of course come down to me, as he is just not getting how cold it is going to be when we get there!
Holidays have been a really important part of our family life for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s visiting family in Scotland, taking a cruise or going abroad for our holidays we have enjoyed all of our experiences together. Some have gone better than others, granted, but it’s the being together that really counts. I stirnly remember a time that I was in Ohio, and was frantically looking for rooms for rent in cincinnati ohio. After finding one, we spent what seemed like months in the beautiful city, only to really
We were just about to leave the house to start our trip to the Hotel Stella & Spa in Pineda De Mar when Daddy starts offering some last minute holiday assistance. Throwing in questions like, have you got the passports and did you pack the toothbrushes as we are leaving the house is bound to be met with a frosty response from me. Fancy not having faith in my holiday planning lists! This holiday to Costa Brava had been planned like a military operation, all in an effort to reduce
Yelloh! Village is quite possibly the best active family holiday available in France and Spain. Described as Europe’s finest open-air hotels I’ve been finding out all about taking a holiday at Yelloh! Village. It really sounds like it is a great experience and has something to keep everyone in the family busy.
Going on a family holiday is one of the most memorable times where parents form a stronger bond with their children while experiencing new things together. Andalucia is one of the best places to visit in Europe with the entire family in tow. There are so many things to see and do to keep each member of the family entertained. Check out the following things you and your family can do in this beautiful place.
Great Yarmouth has plenty of things to do all year round with a great programme of events including theatre shows and racing. This is such an important factor when deciding where to take the family on holiday. If you’re anything like us, we like having lots of things to do, interesting places to visit and plenty to see when we are taking a family break. I visited Great Yarmouth every year when I was a child, so it’s a place I can’t wait to share with my family now I
We are well and truly on countdown to our holiday in Costa Brava and it really can’t come quick enough. It feels like the right time for us to be taking a break as a family. We haven’t been abroad since our trip to Ibiza, which was exactly 2 years ago. I wasn’t feeling my best for that trip at all. I was about 4 months pregnant with Little Pudding, and I felt grotty. I hadn’t packed a thing and I remember lying on the sofa feeling like death giving instructions to my
That’s it, summer is well and truly over folks. Once the last bank holiday has passed, autumn starts to creep in doesn’t it? The mornings are crisp and fresh, the leaves start to turn brown and the nights are noticeably darker.
When I was planning our weekend away, I actually struggled to find free things to do in York. The city has a growing tourist economy and it really shows. The city boasts 6 million tourist visitors every year, that spend in excess of over £600 million so lots of the best attractions charge an entrance fee. It seems that this booming tourist industry has left very little for the local visitor to York to enjoy on a budget. A short weekend break, can soon end up costing you a small
Travelodge York Central invited us to enjoy a weekend break in one of their new family rooms recently. York is a place I have been before, for a night out, but not somewhere I have really explored so we were definitely up for it. We hadn’t long returned from our visit to Travelodge Liverpool Central, so it was going to be interesting for us comparing the two hotel experiences.
Cornwall is easily the top UK destination for family holidays, and somewhere everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. It offers the very best of British coastline and beaches making it the perfect playground for all it’s visitors. Cornwall is brimming with family friendly days out to keep children entertained during their stay. Whether it’s a day out in St Ives, a visit to the Eden Project or a visit to the Monkey Sanctuary in Looe, you can be sure your family will have lots of fun in this
If you are looking for a family short break, I can’t recommend Liverpool enough as a place to visit. We went there recently really not knowing what to expect, and we ended up having one of the best short breaks we’ve ever had. People go to Liverpool for lots of different reasons. We saw plenty of stag and hen do’s as it’s a very lively place for a night out. If your feeling particularly adventurous why not take the Liverpool Karaoke Tuk Tuk. It certainly seemed like a lot of
We were very lucky on our recent family weekend break to Liverpool to be invited to Knowsley Safari for a day out. None of us had been to Knowsley Safari Park before, so this was an amazing new experience for us to share together. Daddy didn’t even realise that safari parks even existed in this country so it really was an eye opener for him. We arrived at the park when it opened and were given our arrangements for the day and the time we had to join the Knowsley Safari Baboon
Recently Travelodge invited us to stay at one of their hotels for a family weekend break. It was great timing for us as we had also been invited to review a day out at Knowsley Safari Park so we agreed that a stay in Liverpool would work out well. We were booked into the Travelodge Liverpool Central hotel and all we had to do was turn up. We were really looking forward to our weekend break. We had never visited Liverpool before and the Travelodge Liverpool Central seemed like the
If your checking into Drayton Manor Hotel this week, you’ll notice a new addition to the staff team. Noah Reeves-Walters, 9 years old, from Kidderminster will be on hand to answer the important questions of the day for half term week. Not, where’s the nearest cash point or can you point me in the direction of the ladies? He’s there to give important advice to children who want to know how wobbly the jelly is, where has candy floss and where to sit to get the best soaking on Storm
