Do you have a tastecard?

No! Then I’d highly recommend you get one.

You can eat out at so many restaurants, while saving lots of money!

I find having a tastecard lets me eat out at a time that’s convenient to me while making big savings in my favourite restaurants.

Finding Tastecard Restaurants Near Me

This month, I was long overdue to catch up with my eldest son.

He only lives 5 minutes down the road, but when life gets busy, we forget to make time for each other.

He’s not one for picking up the phone and his texts are very short and sweet – can you relate?

We both have a lot going on at the weekends, so meeting up during the week is a much better option.

The tastecard app is great for finding great restaurant offers near me, so I searched for somewhere to eat we would both enjoy.

There are lots of filters on the tastecard app, so it’s really easy to find restaurants I like where I can save money.

We both love Italian, and I can use my tastecard at Prezzo for a 2 for 1 discount, so I got us booked in for a meal.

I’ve also been a lot more conscious about what I eat in recent months, and have been following a vegan diet during World Vegan Month to see if it suits me.

I was very impressed with the amount of vegan options that Prezzo offered, so using my tastecard at this restaurant ticked a lot of boxes for our meal out together.

Big News!

My son has a tendency to play his cards close to his chest.

Being nearly 25, I totally respect that he wants to find his own way in the world. I also know that he’s very capvable of dealing with most things life has to throw at him.

As the rather tasty Italian Hummus reached the table, I asked my favourite question: ‘So, do you have any news?’

Quite often, the answer is the same as not a lot changes.

Well, turns out things do change!

He announced he was buying a house, and had an offer accepted on a property on the other side of town.

Now, this is my kind of news!

I’m so excited for him and his girlfriend.

They’ve been living at her parents house since we went into lockdown back in March 2020.

That seems like a long time by anyone’s standards.

It definitely had its bonuses though, as it’s allowed him to save up the money for a deposit.

I was so pleased I’d asked him out for dinner, as he only shares big news like this face to face!

Delicious Vegan Pizza

I was very excited to move onto the next course, not only because I got to try the delicious vegan Tre Gusti pizza, but also because I could get all the details on the new house.

I love everything about buying a new home. We moved house just over a year ago and it’s a super exciting time for anyone.

I’m so excited and so proud of my son for making this step, especially during such challenging times.

He told me they had missed out on a few properties because of cash buyers.

They were looking for something they could just move into, and by the look of the house they are buying, they will be able to do just that.

It was just wonderful being able to share this news with my son over a delicious meal.

I could tell he was in a really good place and had really thought, what is a very big decision, through thoroughly.

Maximum Tastecard Discount

I hadn’t realised we would have such big news to celebrate!

This could only mean one thing.

We were definitely going to be having dessert.

With the Prezzo 2 for 1 tastecard discount offer we could really push the boat out!

I divided right into the vegan Biscoff Cheesecake with Banana while we discussed things like arranging solicitors and booking surveys.

The annoying thing about my son not sharing his big news until after he’d had the offer accepted was that I could have given him some helpful recommendations and tips about the process, but I guess when they grow up they want to stand on their own two feet.

Final Thoughts on Tastecard

The great thing about going to tastecard restaurants is the huge savings that can be made.

We saved £23.20 using the 2 for 1 discount offer, which is huge!

As well as saving a ton of money, I got to spend some quality time over a delicious meal with one of my favourite people.

Unbeknown to me, our little catch up turned into a wonderful celebration.

Do you have friends or family members who much prefer chatting face to face?

Maybe it’s time to arrange a meal out and cash in on the tastecard discounts at the same time!

  3. Well, first congrats to your son and his girlfriend! Definitely a reason for a night out. But the tastecard sounds like a winner if you love eating out, which I do!

  4. This looks like a wonderful place to eat. Those long pita pieces with the hummus are so neat. I haven’t been out to eat much lately, and this would be a treat.
