Sigiriya, also known as Sinhagiri, is an ancient rock fortress in the northern Matale District of Sri Lanka’s Central Province, near the town of Dambulla.
It is a historical and archaeological site that is dominated by a massive rock column that stands approximately 180 metres (590 feet) tall.
The ancient fortress is one of the best-preserved examples of ancient urban planning.
4. Halong Bay, Vietnam
Want to see the stunning sights of Vietnam? Your first stop should be Halong Bay.
The bay is compiled of 1000+ tiny limestone islands that were formed over a thousand years ago.
The scenery, best seen by boat, is stunning and a day trip won’t do it justice. Halong Bay is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.
With plenty of caves that you can explore there is lots to keep you occupied.
Whilst exploring the landscape is ideal, most people enjoy simply cruising around the islands and soaking up the views the bay has to offer.
