If you’re planning an escape to the Cornish coast this summer, whether it be for a weekend, week or even a fortnight – a trip to the beach is a must!

With this in mind, here are a selection of five beaches to consider exploring on your next staycation to Cornwall.

So, if you’ve booked to stay in one of the many holiday parks UK coastline resorts have to offer, or a site a little further inland, find out what beaches are worth a trip or two when visiting Cornwall this summer.

If you’re ready to find a destination to feel the sea breeze in your hair and sand between your toes, read on.

Carbis Bay, St Ives

If it’s a pristine white sandy beach you’re looking for, Carbis Bay could be the coved beach for you. With its glistering turquoise waters washing onto the shore, you could easily forget you were in the UK.

Talking of the sea – this location is the perfect place to paddle board, bodyboard, swim and build big sand castle sculptures.

Kynance Cove, The Lizard Island

When you step onto the beach at Kynance Cove, you’ll instantly realise why it has been voted one of the best beaches in the world.

With an almost fairy-tale-like charm, let the coved beach whisk your imagination away to a tropical clime, letting you believe you’ve transported yourself to a beach far, far away.

In the afternoon, the pure white sands disappear under the turquoise waters. But the beach doesn’t stay hidden for too long.

Porthcurno Beach

Another beach in Cornwall that can make you feel like you’ve stepped onto a beach in the Bahamas, is Porthcurno Beach.

The turquoise blue crystal waters lap onto the white sandy beach, between two high cliffs, making it feel like a pocket of paradise.

If this wasn’t enough, a small stream winds down to form a natural paddling pool – perfect for the kids.

Summerleaze Beach, Bude

If you love to do more than just lay on the beach, safely catching some rays, Summerleaze Beach could be for you.

With its action-packed waves rolling towards the stunning beach, offering a surfer’s dream riding experience and provisions for a spot of kayaking, climbing and coasteering – there’s something for everyone!

And if you’d rather have a dip in the pool, there’s a 1930s sea pool that fills up with seawater when submerged at high tide and reappears when the tide goes out, which many say is a lovely place for a casual swim.

Pendower Beach, The Roseland Peninsula

A mile-long stretch of sand, offering panoramic views of Gerrans Bay, Pendower Beach could be said to be one of the prettiest beaches on the Cornish Riviera.

Along the golden sands, you have the option to dip your toes in the sea or follow a stream up towards some rock pools – ideal for spotting wildlife in their natural habitat.

The beach itself is framed by stunning sand dunes – the perfect picnic spot!

Will you be heading to any of these beaches on your Cornish staycation?
