Written in Partnership with Very

As a parent, there’s nothing quite like seeing your children thrive and achieve their best, but as I’ve recently discovered, parenting neurodivergent children comes with its own unique set of challenges.

Both my children, who have been diagnosed with dyslexia and are waiting for an assessment for ADHD, face daily hurdles when it comes to learning and staying organised.

School itself is hugely demanding for them, so we really need weekends to be calm and relaxing.

Yes, this does mean that they spend quite a lot of time in their pajamas!

These challenges not only affect them, but impact the whole family when it comes to stress levels, productivity and organisation.

That’s why being gifted the ASUS Vivobook 15 Laptop from Very has been such a game-changer for all of us.

It’s not just a laptop – it’s a tool that’s transforming our productivity, reducing stress, and giving my children the support they need to succeed.

A young girl wearing a pink leopard-print sweater is seated at a kitchen counter, typing on a laptop. The screen displays a typing practice program with a keyboard layout and color-coded instructions. A KS2 English Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling book is open beside her, along with a pencil and other study materials. The background shows a well-lit kitchen with a refrigerator covered in magnets and notes, as well as a view of the garden through large windows.

A Tool for a New Era of Learning

Homework used to be a dreaded part of our daily routine.

For children with dyslexia and ADHD, tasks that involve reading, writing, or focusing for long periods can feel insurmountable.

Just getting started with homework can be a minefield, let alone actually completing it.

The ASUS Vivobook 15, however, has introduced new ways to make learning more accessible and engaging for them.

The AMD Ryzen 7 processor and 16GB of RAM mean that the laptop can handle multiple applications at once without lag—ideal for switching between reading software, educational apps, and school portals.

The Full HD display ensures crisp, clear visuals, making text and images easier for my children to process.

One of the standout features for us has been the ability to integrate assistive technologies seamlessly.

For instance, we’ve been using dyslexia-friendly software like speech-to-text and text-to-speech tools.

They’ve also been learning to type, which is going to be a hugely beneficial skill going forward.

These programs help my children complete written assignments with greater independence, reducing their reliance on me for supporting them with every step of the process.

The Vivobook’s processing power ensures that these tools run smoothly, which is critical for maintaining focus and minimising frustration.

The Vivobook also allows Brook and Indie to develop skills in their own areas of interest, which is a huge benefit for neurodivergent children.

They both love coding with Scratch, and this laptop handles this online software with ease.

Indie especially loves graphic design and can create mood boards and pictures with this laptop, tapping into her creativity.

Developing these new skills independently is helping their confidence to soar and frees up my time to focus on other day to day tasks that can often fall by the wayside.

Reducing Stress and Anxiety

A young girl wrapped in a green blanket is seated at a kitchen counter, working on a laptop. The screen shows a digital design or animation software with an image of a person being edited. Beside her is a Year 6 question book, pencils, and study materials. The background includes a well-organized kitchen with spice racks, utensils, and a view of the garden through large windows, creating a cozy and productive atmosphere

One of the most profound differences I’ve noticed since using the Vivobook 15 is how much it has reduced the stress and anxiety associated with homework.

In the past, the sheer volume of tasks and the time it took to complete them would often lead to meltdowns or feelings of overwhelm for all of us.

Now, with the ability to break tasks into manageable chunks and use tools that support their specific needs, my children approach homework with a more positive mindset.

For example, Indie has always struggled with writing assignments because of her dyslexia.

Using the laptop, she can now dictate her thoughts using voice recognition software, which captures her ideas quickly and accurately.

This allows her to focus on creativity and content rather than getting bogged down by spelling and grammar errors.

Similarly, Brook, who finds it hard to stay focused for extended periods, benefits from being able to complete tasks quickly and easily which has a huge impact on her stress levels and sense of wellbeing.

The Vivobook’s fast performance means that the tools and technology we need are always ready when we need them, without interruptions that could derail her concentration.

Enhancing Family Productivity

This laptop hasn’t just helped Indie and Brook; it’s transformed our entire family’s approach to being able to get things done.

With both kids needing different kinds of support, I’ve often felt stretched thin and frustrated, trying to juggle their needs while keeping up with my own to-do list.

The Vivobook 15’s 512GB SSD provides ample storage for all our documents, assignments, and educational resources, keeping everything organised and easily accessible.

Being digitally organised is going to be an essential skill for Brook and Indie as they continue along their educational journey.

Additionally, the laptop’s lightweight design and long battery life mean that we can use it anywhere, whether it’s at the kitchen table, on the sofa, or even outdoors for a change of scenery.

This flexibility has been especially helpful for Brook, who often benefits from a shift in environment to reset her focus.

In front of her on the counter are a KS2 English Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling book, a notebook, and pencils. The background includes a built-in oven, microwave, and a partially open door, giving a glimpse of a family kitchen setting.

Supporting Independence and Confidence

Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of using the Vivobook 15 has been watching Brook and Indie grow in confidence.

By giving them the tools they need to work independently, they’re discovering that they’re capable of achieving more than they thought possible.

Indie, for instance, recently completed a creative writing project—something she’d always dreaded—and received glowing feedback from her teacher.

Seeing her pride in her work was a moment I’ll never forget.

For parents like me, whose children face the added challenges of neurodivergence, having the right technology can make all the difference.

The ASUS Vivobook 15 has not only made homework more manageable but has also helped us reclaim precious family time.

Instead of spending hours battling over assignments, we can now focus on celebrating achievements and enjoying quality moments together.

A Recommendation for Every Parent

Surrounding the laptop are various desk accessories, including pens, a marker, baskets containing small items like makeup tools and a compact mirror, as well as bottles of skincare or hygiene products. The setup is well-lit, suggesting a bright and tidy workspace

If you’re a parent navigating similar challenges, I can’t recommend the ASUS Vivobook 15 enough.
