Hello lovely readers.  Thanks for stopping by.  I need some inspiration and I’m hoping you can help me?  My husband is amazing by all accounts but I’m struggling to come up with a gift or gesture that will show him just how much I appreciate him this Christmas. He really goes above and beyond for our family.  He works super hard and is literally amazing with the girls.  He also steps in and takes care of Brook and Indie when I have to jet off for work.  Having this kind

How close is Christmas now folks?  It is literally around the corner, so we thought we had better get some of our Christmas traditions ticked of the list before we ran out of time.  This year we added something new to the agenda, hoping that the girls would enjoy it. We had been invited to the National Ice Centre to check out their new family friendly skating arrangements, and when I told the girls they were going on the ice, they were so excited.  Indie told me she hadn’t done

My 3 year old daughter has been ill for weeks in one form or another.  As soon as the cold weather set in so did the winter bugs and it’s been relentless.  She’s had every kind of cold you can think of from lingering and chesty to dry and tickley.  In between we’ve also had the odd tummy bug, as those pesky germs get everywhere don’t they. Her dream pet arrived at the house just in time to help her through what has been a particularly rubbish few weeks.  He

My husband literally despairs at this time of year.  While he loves Christmas, when it comes to shopping and present ideas he doesn’t really know where to start.  I gave up on receiving wonderful surprise gifts years ago and started giving him gift ideas to take some of the stress out of it for him.  Whilst this worked to a point, he still finds Christmas shopping difficult and time consuming. I was just talking about how I’m the chief runner at Christmas time, and I find coming up with gift

Nottingham is an incredibly unique city in that it is brimming with independently owned shops and businesses.  In some areas,  you will probably find as many independently owned cafes, restaurants and shops as you will find High Street chains.  It makes for a really varied shopping experience especially when it comes to Christmas time and buying unique gifts for friends and family. On Saturday 2nd December, I was invited into town with a group of lovely bloggers to celebrate our fantastic local business owners and see what they had to

With so many options on the run-up to the Christmas holiday, you might find it difficult to choose just one! To give you some inspiration to keep you and the kids busy this Christmas, here is just a short list to make sure you create some great Christmas memories this year. Visit the Christmas Markets Every year the UK embraces its

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t go into town as much as I used to.  In fact it’s probably been years since I went out for a few drinks and some dancing.  When I found out there was a Bierkeller in town  though, I couldn’t resist popping along to find out what it was like.  As you might already know, I’ve been to Germany a few times this year and I love their attitude to socialising.  The Germans know how to let there hair down and going

Amazon has been dominating the list of online retailers for a few years now so there’s no doubt it’s going to be the first choice for buying gift and gadgets this Christmas.  We use Amazon regularly to buy presents and essential items for the family throughout the year so I’m getting pretty familiar with their products and offers. As I know many of you will be looking to Amazon to complete your Christmas shopping, I’ve pulled together some of the best gift ideas and gadgets from the website to help

Hands up if you love ordering takeaway? I know we love to have takeaway every now and again with Chinese and pizza being right up there as our favourite online food orders. We go to our takeaway app and place a an order without much thought to how we are spending our money until now. I was recently introduced to a food ordering and table reservation service called Kukd.com and they have completely changed how I order takeaway food or book a table at a restaurant. I want to be

As you might already know, I’m a huge fan of the Eden Hall Spa Day.  When I was given the opportunity to go and find out what the Comfort Blanket treatment was all about, I literally couldn’t refuse.  Doesn’t it sound like the perfect way to fgive the mind and body a boost already? My Eden Hall spa day was very well timed.  I had spent the previous weekend in Hamburg with my 3 year old daughter on a really fun city break.  We had a fantastic time, but I did

When you ask a child to draw a picture, you can be pretty sure something very creative is about to happen.  I set my daughter the challenge of creating her dream horse and we had a long chat about what she thought this might look like before she got started. She loves all animals, but her dream equine animal turned out to be something rather unique.  Her ideal horse would actually be an exceptionally rare breed that you may not of heard of before.  Let me take a minute to

There’s no doubt that having children can really change a women’s body.  Most Mums gain a little weight during pregnancy and some of us are able to lose it and some of us aren’t quite so lucky.  Our bodies most certainly change shape with our hips becoming permanently wider.  It’s true isn’t it ladies! We might also gain a few stretch marks from growing a little human inside of us. None of these changes should effect our confidence, but for some these issues can really effect how we feel when

I really appreciate not being in an office anymore, so today I wanted to share some working from home tips with you all.  My days of being sat in an office, 9 to 5 are over, and I don’t miss the sterile environment one bit.  All those grey desks cramped into a tiny space and the noise that went with it used to drive me crackers to tell you the truth.  Don’t get me wrong, people had to go about their daily tasks, but the constant interruptions, telephone calls and

Hello again readers!  I’m really sorry for mentioning the C word twice in one week, but Christmas is a big deal right?  As soon as the night’s draw in and the weather gets colder I start to think about this particular festive occasion. In the dark winter month’s it’s nice to have something to look forward.  I love the decorations and sparkle that comes with Christmas and I’m a huge fan of mulled wine.  Anyway, I digress! For those of you who are keen to get started on the Christmas

I have been drinking Ribena for years, and it’s a drink I still enjoy as a juicy refreshing summer thirst quencher.  There’s something about that Ribenary fruity taste that just brightens your day, right?  Well now you can bring that Ribenary feeling to life with the new Doodle Your World app.  We have been out and about having fun with the crazy characters and winning bonus’s all at the same time. Whether it’s your first home, or the house that you have been living in for a while, having a place fit for socialising is something that lots of us aspire to, especially in the summer months.  Having a party at home is a great way to get friends and family together especially when the people you know have children.  So that you can get your house ready for your next celebration, I have got some awesome tips to get your home party ready this season: Party Lanterns The quickest, simplest

I’ve lost my focus with Slimming World recently and I’m trying to get back on track.  The first thing that seems to happen is I stop keeping track of my slimming world syns, and some guess work starts creeping in. I haven’t been staying to my Slimming World group, just running in to get weighed and stock up on salted caramel hi-fi bars (3 syns each) and then running out the door. It really has an impact on my weight loss progress if I don’t stay to the session.  Hearing

Rushcliffe Country Park is definitely our favourite place to take the kids near to our home, but it dawned on us today that we hadn’t been for sometime.  Last year we would go and visit a couple of times a month in the warmer weather, but we don’t seem to have got into the same good habits this year. Sundays start early in this house with our first swimming lesson starting at 9am.  Seeing as we are out and about so early it’s nice to keep this momentum.  After Sunday

The summer isn’t just about going on holiday and spending time on the beach.  It’s also about making the most of the sunshine at home.  Follow these simple ideas to add a little luxury into your life this summer and enjoy that holiday feeling the whole season. Book A Spa Day Why not treat yourself to an indulgent spa day plus a relaxing treatment.  It’s the perfect way to unwind and there’s nothing more decadent than spending the day moving from hot tub to sauna and chilling out in your robe.

My friend recently had to hire a Virginia car accident lawyer after she had a car crash and it made me think about my driving. I’m a good driver but I want to know how to improve it. From the moment our AA Car Genie arrived I genuinely thought ‘this is a great concept, and it’s going to make a big difference to how we feel about driving as a family’. As you might already have guessed we rely heavily on our car for lots of reasons. We use our

Eden Hall Spa is a very special place and I was delighted to be invited back to review their Best of British spa day experience this month. Life has been super busy recently, which I am hugely grateful, but my body was trying to tell me I was doing a little too much. What with running a home, looking after a family and working for myself, my self care was getting forgotten again.  It’s an easy trap to fall into when your a busy Mum. A visit to Eden Hall

Are you going to be moving soon as you’ve recently been picked up a new job? Firstly, congratulations, that’s awesome news!  It’s sounds like there are exciting times ahead.  There’s a lot to sort out though, so lets see if we can’t help things run smoothly for you to make the most of this big life change. If you’re really lucky, then your new employer will pay for your move as well as help you get set up with a place to live, but unfortunately that’s rarely the case. Between hiring

Are you the person that everyone goes to when they want something organising?  Do you get asked for recommendations for places to go for all kinds of occasions?  This happens to me quite a bit.  My husband needed to find a venue for a work function the other day, and instead of asking around the office or delegating to one of the receptionists he emails me to help him find something suitable. It wasn’t just any old meeting either.  It was with a team of people who had flown in

The internet can give us useful medical knowledge, which we can find empowering especially when it comes to booking our holidays or travelling to new destinations.  Before I visit a new country, I like to search for travel vaccinations from Lloyds Pharmacy Online Doctor to see if I require a Typhoid vaccine or Diphtheria, Polio & Tetanus Booster before my visit.  It can be a really convenient way of arranging your travel vaccinations and you can feel confident you know exactly what you need before you go. We have all searched for our

Moving to a new country with your family can be thrilling and fun, but also hectic and nerve wracking. So even though you loved those Homes For Sale In Davenport FL, you still might and the idea of moving a bit worrying. The transition is an important moment for all, especially with kids involved. Making sure that everybody is on the same page, and the move is explained thoroughly to all of the family members is fundamental for the process to go smoothly. You’ll want to make sure that people

Many people enjoy driving, but no everyday journey can beat a special driving experience. The main problem that people have is that it is so expensive to buy these types of cars, and then it’s not even the car that costs money but also the up keep and insurance. You could at least take a look at someone like Money Expert who might be able to get you the cheapest insurance possible, but it would still be incredibly expensive. That’s why these types of special driving experiences are a thing

This year, National Random Acts of Kindness Day falls on 17 February – a whole day dedicated to carrying out good deeds. With so much going on in the world at the moment, it’s the ideal time to go out of your way to spread a little happiness. To help you celebrate this day, here are three simple yet kind things you can do. 1. Make a charity donation Making a donation to charity is a great way to spread kindness, and there are a number of ways to do

One thing that I have vivid memories of from growing up is learning to ride a bike.  I learnt to ride one summer, in the grounds of a health retreat that my Mum worked at at the time.  I must have been 5 or 6 years old, something like that anyway.  One minute I was being pushed along, and the next I was doing it all be myself and I didn’t even realise.  When I did realise, I could have been flying through the sky, I was so excited.  I can

When I visit London these days, I quite enjoy going on the London Underground.  My daughter loves the underground trains in the tunnels, and they are definitely one of her highlights of being able to visit the capital too.  When we see the faces of the commuters using the Tube day in and day out, I know that for us the experience is a novelty, but for them the London Underground can be as much of a hinderance as it is a help.  No one ever looks happy on the

When Daddy got back from America. I told him I was going to see my Dad.  It wasn’t something we had really spoke about before he left.  We were to busy dealing with his fear of flying, and to be honest this is very much about my story.  The next day, I dropped the kids off at nursery, and ferried Daddy to work as I would do normally but then I took a different route, to picturesque middle England to see my Dad.  Visiting your Dad shouldn’t be a thing
