We’ve been making some changes to our living space recently. We wanted to make full use of the living space we had and the current layout wasn’t doing that. Sofa’s and chairs have been moved around and we were interested to see what impact adding a kids bean bags would have on our room & lifestyle. The lovely people over at Bean Bag Bazaar very kindly sent us a gorgeous fluffy bean bag for the kids to try out.  This particular bean bag is the ICON® Luxury Faux Fur Kids Classic Bean

Have you heard about Carddies yet?  If you have been following our Instagram account or read our bumper post about  tips for travelling with 2+ kids you might have guessed that we are huge fans of these little boxed colouring sets already. In the interests of full disclosure we were sent 2 sets of Carddies around Christmas time, and we found them brilliant for keeping the kids busy when we are out and about both at home or when we are travelling.  Since we were gifted these first sets, we

Childs Farm is a brand that has been catching my attention more and more recently.  All my kids have had sensitive skin at some point and I want to make sure that we use the best products we can for them. Childs Farm heard that we were going to be heading to Morocco very soon.  I may have mentioned that once or twice already.  They offered to send some travel toiletries over for the trip and I was super excited to be able to try out the new sun care

When it comes to the equipment you need when you have a baby, multifunctional is without a doubt the way forward.  Recently I was introduced to the Sleepyhead® Deluxe+ baby nest and it really does tick a lot of boxes for new parents.  Not only is it a fantastic environment for a baby to sleep in generally, but it’s also the perfect family travel companion. Here’s some reasons why I love the Sleepyhead® Deluxe+.  It’s suitable for a a baby from birth to 8 months old and it creates a womb like

Have you ever won a holiday?  I have and it’s an awesome feeling!  I won a trip to Spain and we had the best time.  To be able to enjoy an extra family holiday that year was such a highlight and it’s partly what inspired me to start sharing travel giveaways with my readers. At the end of last year I shared a few posts after tracking down some great ‘win a holiday’ contents and they turned out to be a real hit.  These holiday giveaways are from reputable websites

Hello readers! How are you?  Welcome back to my ‘Win a Holiday’ feature!  I hope you have had a great week and you are looking forward to Christmas. I’ll be honest, December has been a bit of a rollercoaster for me and I’m really ready for a break with my family.  When I was feeling a little bit low last week, I wanted to do something to cheer myself up.  Nothing makes me happier than helping Zena’s Suitcase readers and the first ‘holiday giveaways‘ post was published. The holiday competitions

Who doesn’t want to win a holiday or some cool travel gear? If you sad yes, then you are absolutely in the right place.  I stumbled across a new travel website yesterday and they were giving away £18,000 worth of holidays during December.  Well, of course I entered and I thought Zena’s Suitcase might like to read about other great holiday competitions on the internet. If that’s something you would like to know about, it could well become a regular feature. All the holiday giveaways in this list will be

Travel for me is about visiting incredible new places. In the early part of my life I really didn’t travel very far, but I had this burning desire to see more of the world.  The first time I stepped on a plane and left the UK was a life changing moment for me.  I really didn’t know what I was going to find at the other end, but I knew it was going to be good. In all honestly we were heading to Spain for a beach holiday, so I

Isn’t this time of year just perfect to add some new family games to your collection? We have been trying our 2 new games from TOMY and wanted to share all the fun we’ve been having. Burp the Baby Game I’ll kick off with Burp the Baby.  I wasn’t sure what I was going to think about this game to be honest.  The baby is far from cute looking isn’t it!  I guess that’s the point.  He’s a funny baby really and there’s nothing cute about him when he spits

Hello readers! Baby Born Interactive Doll Giveaway Do you remember a few weeks ago Brook and Indie received the Baby Born Interactive doll to review?  If you missed that post you can read all about how they got along with the doll here.  They are still very much enjoying playing with their new doll and all her fantastic accessories so I asked Baby Born if they would consider offering my readers the same doll as a giveaway prize. I’m absolutely delighted to announce that Baby Born agreed and I now have a

Have you heard of Yelloh! Village before?  If you have been reading the blog for a while you might remember that we went on holiday to Yelloh! Village Les Grands Pins in France last year and we made such wonderful memories together as a family so I’m really excited about today’s announcement on Zena’s Suitcase blog. Yelloh! Village are the purveyors of the outdoor luxury hotel and have 81 sites across France, Spain and Portugal.  Their camp sites are renowned for great facilities and excellent services and we can certainly vouch

It’s that time of year when families all over the country will be packing their suitcases in the trunks of their cars and loading up the kids in search of summer fun either here in the UK or touring around Europe. No matter where you are heading, there’s something about knowing you are ready for the off and turning the key in the ignition that spells summer holiday fun isn’t there? Road trips are exciting both for kids and parents and are just packed full of positive and happy experiences.

You know,  I’ve been talking a lot recently about what we do with all those photos and videos we save on a phones and computers so it seems like a great time to introduce you to CanvasChamp, the online photo print service I’ve been testing out recently. When they reached out to me to see if I would like to receive a canvas print from their website, I knew exactly which photo I wanted to use.  I have a lovely picture of the girls together from our holiday in Devon and

If you haven’t taken the kids to a festival yet, but it’s on your summer bucket list, then let me introduce you to Timber Festival.  You might have seen that I talked about it in my top family friendly festivals in the Midlands guide, but I really don’t think I said enough.  This festival is all about enjoying the outdoors, and we all know how much kids love enjoy exploring and nature. Timber is an extraordinary, family friendly festival where music, art, theatre, storytelling, science and play will weave together

Seeing expectant parents or a newborn baby are both things that fill me with absolute joy.  Having a baby is such a special time for parents and the love you experience for a new baby is like nothing else you’ll ever experience.  It’s the beginning of a very special journey for your new family. I’m not sure that anything can really prepare you for having a new baby arrive in the house as it’s so difficult to comprehend how much change this tiny little person can bring with it.  Along

Playing games as a family is such an easy and fun way to spend quality time together.  It’s also a fab way for young children to work on skills like sharing and taking in turns.  There’s also the idea of learning rules and following them to help everyone enjoy taking part in playing the game.  Games are great for kids all round and we were lucky enough to be sent three from TOMY to try out with the girls. Greedy Granny Game The Greedy Granny Game from TOMY is perfect

PizzaExpress is one of our favourite family friendly restaurants and when we heard that they had teamed up with the World Book Day campaign we couldn’t wait to pop down and find out what it was all about.  We also got to eat some amazing pizza, which helps a lot of course! As parents we have learnt to be creative about using our time with the kids to encourage them to read, draw, write and do activities.  We love story books and I always carry a pad and colouring pens

I’ve been thinking a lot about ‘self care’ recently, and how every other post we see on blogs and social media has something to say about it.  I’m sure you’ve read ’10 ways to practice self care’ or something very similar and I wondered how you felt about it?  There’s something about the term ‘self care’ that doesn’t sit quite right with me, and I’m not sure it helps women, men or anyone really feel good about the practice of taking care of themselves. Self Care or Positive Care? Perhaps

I must admit, I do like to have carpets in the house.  Even better than carpets, I like to have clean carpets, but when you have a young family this can be quite a challenge.  Children spill things, it’s just a part of life.  Cups of orange juice get knocked over, jam on toast gets dropped on the floor and don’t get me started on the amount of times the kids have come running in the house with muddy feet without a care in the world. Sometimes the parents have
