Kids and transport go so well together, so it seemed obvious for us to include a visit to Seaton Tramway on our recent holiday to Devon.  If you are staying at Andrewshayes Holiday Park, it literally is on your doorstep. A really good option for visiting this Devon attraction is to drive to the tram station at Colyton and catch the tram to Seaton for a fantastic fun filled family day out. Seaton Tramway Review We left the car at Colyton in the free car park and headed into the

Our family love boat trips. They give us a different perspective on the place we are visiting and we get to enjoy our holiday at a completely different pace. Devon is literally perfect for boat trips, and we joined Stuart Line Cruises for their Jurassic Coast Tour during our family holiday last month. We joined the boat trip in Exmouth and I’ll be honest in that we had literally minutes to board before the boat departed. This is totally my fault for not giving us enough time to get there

You will already have guessed if you are a regular reader of my blog that I am a huge fan of Eden Hall Spa in Nottinghamshire.  I’m certainly not the only one as spa guests travel from far and wide to visit this very special and tranquil retreat just outside the village of Elston. My sister has been wanting to visit Eden Hall Spa for many years, and we finally got a date in our diaries pinned down to visit for our birthdays last month.  To say she was very

I am literally the worst parent for adding name labels to my kids school uniform.  I think the teachers probably despair of me and I’ve lost count of how many cardigans and pieces of PE kit we’ve lost over the years.  I begin the school year with good intentions, and the first day of term arrives and I’m frantically writing names on labels with whatever comes to hand, usually a biro! Well, it’s safe to say that with this approach to putting name tags on school uniform, the job never

Do you order organic fruit and vegetables from Riverford?  Did you know that they have a restaurant in Devon, called the Riverford Field Kitchen?  If it’s a restaurant you are interested in then read on to find out about our delicious family Sunday dinner and our Riverford farm tour.   We met the Head Gardener Penny Hemming at Riverford Field Kitchen to begin our tour, which started with a peek inside the Riverford Field Kitchen poly tunnel.  I was really excited about this tour as I feel so strongly about children

Hello readers! Thanks so much for coming back to find out how we’ve been getting along with our Western Digital (WD) My Cloud Home and our latest family tradition, Screening Sunday.  If you’ve not read my first post, you can find out all about my experience of online digital storage here.  Did you join in with Screening Sunday?  If not I’m sure you will be having a go with your family after you’ve read this post 🙂 My Cloud Home Review When the My Cloud Home arrived in our house,

Did you know that you can now stay at Devon’s best family day out attraction, Crealy Resort and Adventure Park?  We were invited to stay in a safari tent at Crealy Meadows with our 2 kids aged 4 and 6 years old.  It could well be the best glamping in Devon for kids and here’s why. Glamping at Crealy Meadows is a great option for families looking for places to stay in Devon AND it’s literally right next door to Crealy’s Great Adventure Park which is perfect for little people’s legs.

Can I be honest with you for a second? Before writing my blog, we hadn’t had much luck with caravan holidays and my husband relishes reminding of a not so successful holiday we had back in 2012 when Indie was a baby. I’ve been determined to turn this round and show him that caravan holidays, especially in Devon can be a great option for a family in 2018. When we received an invitation to stay at Andrewshayes Holiday Park near Lyme Regis, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to show

Since the beginning of the year I have been sharing our favourite products with you to to take a peek at.  March looked a little bit different as I talked about what my 6 year old was asking for for her birthday and we were also keen to give parents some alternative gifts for Easter if you were trying to avoid to much chocolate coming into the house.  I really hope you found those posts useful as we really enjoyed sharing them. If you missed our travel and lifestyle round ups,

Do you think about how secure your travel bag is when you are travelling?  Do you look for the best anti theft backpack to take with you on your next adventure or are you still looking for a secure handbag to take on your city break? Finding the best anti theft bags and backpacks can be a challenge so I wanted to share with you two anti theft travel bags I used for my recent trip to Berlin. You might recognise the RIUT backpack from my February Travel and Lifestyle

I’m sure that you’ve realised by now that our holiday to Cornwall was literally packed with fun things to do.  I’m going to share a week long travel guide to staying in Cornwall shortly, but before I get to that post I’ve got one more family day out to share with you.  While we were staying at Porthleven Holiday Cottages we travelled down to Gweek to visit the Cornish Seal Sanctuary. This wasn’t just any visit to see the seals, as we were going to be enjoying a very special

Everyone in the family was super excited about visiting the Eden Project during our Cornwall road trip. For many years I’ve wanted to tick Eden Project, Cornwall’s most famous and iconic attraction, off my UK bucket list.  During our Cornwall holiday I found out my husband felt the same way.  The kids asked ‘what is the Eden Project’, and seeing as I’d found the best explanation on the Eden Project website, I told them ‘it’s the largest rainforest in captivity’, as well as some other interesting botanical components of course!

If you saw my letter to my daughter for her 6th birthday, you have probably twigged that Indie has been celebrating this week.  The excitement has actually been brewing for weeks, as her 6th birthday party was actually the week before her actual birthday.  We arranged it this way as we spent her birthday at the lovely Darwin Forest surrounded by snow, but I’ll share more about that in another post.  She’s still super excited as she knows her Grandparents are coming to visit her this weekend, which of course

Monday always seems like such an abrupt start to the week, don’t you agree? After those lazy weekend mornings, the alarm going off at 7am and the flurry of activity that follows is quite a shock to my system.  Everyone started stirring when the alarm began to ring through the house, and I decided to peek through the curtains before heading downstairs to get the breakfast started. I wish I’d put off looking outside now, as it was definitely cats and dogs weather out there and this particular Monday was

If you want breathtaking views and an exceptional dining experience I strongly recommend that you book a table at Lewinnick Lodge during your next Cornwall holiday.  As restaurants in Newquay goes it’s probably one of the best and will tick all the right boxes if you want a special treat or have an occasion to celebrate during your trip. That’s a pretty bold opening statement but that’s how impressed we were with both the food and the location of this restaurant and luxury bed and breakfast in Newquay.  I strongly

If you know anything about travelling with kids you’ll completely understand that taking on long distance driving needs some very careful planning indeed. There is no denying that driving from Nottingham to Cornwall with children is a very long way, but I was feeling a lot happier about taking on the road trip with the Kia Optima Sportswagon 2.0 GDi PHEV Auto we were going to review for the week. I had very high expectations about testing this car out, but did it turn out to be the best car

I personally believe that finding the right diet product or plan is the key to loosing weight successfully.  There are lots of weight loss products out there and it can quickly feel very overwhelming when you are looking to start a diet.  It’s important to choose a weight loss plan that is going to fit with your lifestyle and that you will enjoy.  When you are thinking about ‘what is a good diet for me to follow’ these are the 2 questions you really need to have in the front

Going out for dinner is without a doubt one of my favourite things to do, so it simply had to feature during our recent theatre weekend in London.  My sister and I were very excited to be invited to Shikumen in Aldgate to sample their highly acclaimed Chinese food on Saturday evening.  The Shikumen  restaurant is about a 10 minute walk from Tower Pier so I would strongly recommend taking a trip down the Thames with City Cruises to get there.  We caught the boat just as it was getting

Hello lovely readers.  Thanks so much for stopping by for the second edition of the travel and lifestyle round up.  If it’s your first time here, you can catch up on what was making a splash in January in this post.  We’ll be right here when you get back, so please feel free to stop by and have a browse. Well, it’s fair to say that January literally flew by.  Was it the same for you?  It’s blowing my mind that we are over 1/12th of the way through the

Over recent years, going to the theatre has become more and more accessible to children.  I love taking the girls to see a show, and they love watching stories and characters be brought to life in front of their very eyes.  We never fail to have a good time when we go to the theatre as a family. We were lucky enough to be invited to see What The Lady Bird Heard Live showing at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal recently at it was a big hit with both Indie and Brook.

What makes for a memorable restaurant in your book?  Is it a warm and friendly welcome?  Perhaps it’s the comfortable dining experience?  I’m pretty sure an excellent menu and high quality dishes will feature in your list somewhere, right? Well, if you are looking for an Indian restaurant in Nottingham that has all these bases covered then let me introducing you to The Calcutta Club on Maid Marian Way, also known as the ‘Madras Mile’. My husband and I enjoyed a rare night out in Nottingham to find out more

Making sure my kids eat a healthy balanced diet and enjoy an active lifestyle is a constant priority for me.  As you might know if you have followed my blog for a while I have experienced issues with my weight for a long time, since I was a child in fact.  I have always been overweight and it isn’t a legacy I have not wanted to pass onto my children. Being overweight really is no fun, and when it’s something that is part of your earliest childhood memories it’s pretty

One of my favourite countries to visit with the family is Spain.  As well as the gorgeous beaches and warm weather I really love their food and attitude to family life.  They love fresh ingredients and good old fashioned home cooked meals.  I love how you will struggle to eat a processed diet in Spain and there is a distinct lack of fast food restaurants in the traditional towns and villages. I think it’s safe to say that this approach to food and family life is very similar across the

When we were offered the chance to review the Shopkins Skyanna Jet it was the obvious choice of toy for my little explorers.  Shopkins are popular with my girls as they love the collectable little grocery characters with their super cute faces.  Shopkins have been one of the best selling collectable toys for the last few years, so I know they are a big hit with lots of children out there. Asda Chosen By Kids The Shopkins Skyanna Jet is one of the toys featured in the Asda Chosen By

As you might already know, I’m a huge fan of the Eden Hall Spa Day.  When I was given the opportunity to go and find out what the Comfort Blanket treatment was all about, I literally couldn’t refuse.  Doesn’t it sound like the perfect way to fgive the mind and body a boost already? My Eden Hall spa day was very well timed.  I had spent the previous weekend in Hamburg with my 3 year old daughter on a really fun city break.  We had a fantastic time, but I did

We’d already had an exciting day in London with a wonderfully English afternoon tea followed by a stroll along the Southbank with some blogging friends.  Our day was not yet over, and we headed back to our apartment in Fulham Broadway to get ready for our dinner reservation at the Mango Tree London. Time wasn’t on our side so we booked an Uber to ensure we arrived at the restaurant on time.  The two of us enjoyed being driven through the city’s streets at night, chatting about the days’ events

Can you believe that I had Amazon Prime for a whole year, and didn’t realise that I had access to some awesome TV and music.  I’m not quite sure how it happened but as soon as I realised I ordered my Amazon Fire stick and we’ve been playing catch up ever since.  I’ll talk to you about my favourite adult TV shows another time, but today I want to share what the kids and I are watching this Halloween. Room on the Broom  First up is Room on the Broom.

We were recently sent a L.O.L Surprise Doll from series 2 to unbox.  The girls were so excited to get started as you can see. They made a cool unboxing video as they want to be considered to be the next L.O.L Surprise unboxers and you can see how they did.  Would you like them to unbox more dolls?  I think they are pretty good at it but then I’m a bit bias.  Leave us a comment on our video if you would like to see them do some more!

As you already know if you follow my blog regularly we are huge fans of The Original Muck Boot Company for kids outdoor boots.  The girls both adore their Hasbro Hale My Little Pony Boots and having seen them stand up to some pretty serious outdoor conditions I was keen to have a pair of my own. Muck® Boots were kind enough to send me the Cambridge Mid Waterproof Wellington Boot , and I have to admit I fell in love with them as soon as they came out of the

Do you use photo books to save your memories and share them with your family?  Up until now, I’ve rarely used a photo book website because I’ve found them to be very time consuming and incredibly complicated.  The last time I used a photo book was to print my wedding photographs, which was about 5 years ago now. The whole experience really put me off to be honest, as there was so much involved in the creating process.  It took hours because the software was so complicated and there were
